She Has Not Taken the Oath



After the fall of Vicksburg to General Grant, all the citizens of the occupied city were blacklisted if they did not take the oath (to pledge their allegiance to the United States.) Their ability to conduct business, or any sort of public engagement was severely restricted until such oath was obtained.

A truly ugly fact from our history.

I foresee more of that sort of thing in our future if the Teapublicans have their way.
